Trying to post everyday

So, like I said, we're kinda under the weather. However, The Prince and I raked leaves in our front yard for about an hour. Man, that's hard work! I'm not much of a yard work girl, but the Gearhead threw a fit that we weren't doing enough around here, so we hopped to it!

The Princess is off making riches babysitting. She is really getting to be the preferred babysitter for little kids everywhere! :-) I was that girl at her age, so I think it's kinda neat. And what I REALLY find neat is that she has her own money, and doesn't have to bug me for Starbucks money all the time.

I gave the kids a speech (after their dad threw a fit) about how we don't keep our home clean enough, and we should look at it like this: God gave us everything we have. If we don't take care of it, we're are dishonoring GOD! The Princess actually said, "Yep." I don't know why I can't keep this house up. It's very frustrating.

I'm off to get started on some more de-cluttering and general cleaning. *sigh* I hope I grow to enjoy it someday.

The following quote (sent to me by my mother) has been my recent inspiration.

"Because it is true that whoever loves the end also loves the means, all of us who really do enjoy living in a well-kept home can come to enjoy the rituals of its care. The act of taking care of our homes brings comfort and consolation both in the enjoyment of the fruits of our labor and in the increasingly rare freedom to engage in worthwhile, unalienated, honorable work."
--Cheryl Mendelson, Home Comforts

I am still learning to love the care of my home as much as I love my home itself.

I've started on organizing lately, I hate to clean, or do laundry, or fold it, or anything of the sort. But I feel better if I organize just one stupid little thing every day. Oddly enough, I have found a new love for baskets to organize in without realizing it! Also, without realizing it, I've started to organize things without even thinking about it!

I have no clue where I found you through, but good luck with the possible move, and I hope you get that bedroom back soon!

As for being overweight, girlfriend, if all that you need to lose is 35 pounds more and family members are calling you fat, send 'em my way. I have enough sass to make them cower, and they would never dare to call anyone fat again. That's just downright rude!

Daja: Thank you for those words. Embarrassingly enough, I own that book. I love the book, and found many truths in it. I do enjoy my home when it's neat and clean (it has been that way, though infrequently). When the messes seem to build up, I get overwhelmed.

Pioneering: I'm glad you found me! Thank you for the encouraging words about my weight. I never updated about the bedroom, I guess! The room is mostly done; it just needs finishing touches.

Hey, thanks for popping over to my site and leaving a comment~ Thought I'd come over to meet you. Totally relate to the struggle for oranization. I have been on an organization mission for about a year now. It is slow. But I am making progress.

Hoping your leaf raking and oragnizational attempts prove very fruitful.
