The party's over...

I'd be willing to say it was a huge success. Dad was appropriately blown away. My idea of having an "Open house" was the only thing that didn't really pan out. I mean, almost EVERYONE came at around the same time, but filtered out until about 7:30 p.m. Everyone was in the house, and it was getting so crowded! I told Dad "Go outside, and they will follow you!" :-) That did the trick. People realized there were tables and chairs in the backyard, and then it all flowed.

Dad loves his scrapbook, and spent some time reading it after everyone left. There was still too much activity for him to concentrate, so I left it for him to look at tomorrow. I'm going to add greetings from The Prince & Princess, and make pockets for all the cards people gave him today. I'm also going to print out the invitation on some nice paper and put it in the book.

My aunt and uncle from Kansas are meeting us for brunch in the morning, so the party continues!

We have tons of food left over, though the cake was the PERFECT size, so there are only about 2 slices left. Of course, those slices currently reside in my kitchen, along with two gallon size baggies full of sandwiches.

Sadly, The Princess hasn't been feeling well, and had a horrible day. She spent most of the party (including family picture time) in a bedroom asleep. :-( She's had a bad headache that the doctor says is likely a sinus infection; The Prince also has a sinus infection, and I just got over one. I got prescriptions for antibiotics that I haven't yet filled because of all the running around since yesterday.

Pictures to come. I'm too tired to do all that right now. And Daja, I will post pics of the scrapbook when I get it back from my dad. :-)

Good job on the party. I'm sure everyone enjoyed themselves. I hope the princess is feeling better by now.

So glad the party went so well! YEH!! I threw a HUGE 50th Anniversary Party for my parents a few years ago, so I feel your pain. Like you, I to am a last minute person. I tell myself I do my best work under pressure, but not sure even I buy that. Although that boast of adrenline keeps me moving!! =) Looking forward to the pictures. Hope you family gets feeling better.

I've scrolled thru to catch up. Great work on the party! Bet your dad will love that scrapbook and the memories of the day. Too bad that pesky sinus infection decided to stick around for the festivities, though! Hope everyone is starting to feel better!

Send some of those leftover sandwiches my way! I love leftover sandwiches.

Wait, better not. They will spoil before they get here. Rats.

I'm a last minute person too, so don't feel bad. It was a fun party anyway. See, last minute doesn't mean bad! I want to see the scrapbook!
