I went to a scrapbook "event" today, since it's National Scrapbooking Day! The event ran from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. I've been to a few of these before, so I knew what to expect. I actually spent some time Thursday evening and this morning sorting pictures. I have a huge bin full of pictures dating back to, um, 1996. Yes, the year my son was born. And he just turned 12. Yikes.
I only got about five pages done today! It takes me forever to come up with a plan. I think I have to do some power lay-outs (laying out a number of pages before you actually put them together) before my trip in June. Otherwise, I'll come home from that trip with a few pages per day, and that would just be wrong.
Since I now have a beautiful new computer armoire, I am using my old desk to sort pictures. I have to say, it's not pretty. It's very, very messy. But, I am going to that scrapbooking retreat in Texas in June, and I simply must have a plan in place by then.
Here's the new armoire. I got it FOR FREE from some friends who are completely gutting their home, and are buying all new custom furniture.
Isn't it pretty? It had some dings in it, but I used a brown Sharpie and VOILA, you can't even see 'em now! I have more stuff in there now, and have more to put in, but I think it will keep our family room in better shape.
Anyway, that's all for now. Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi gc! Thanks for coming by!
Wow, 27 years. At least you have vacations started - I only have about 15 pages done for both my kids, and not even in books. Just pages. *sigh* I feel like I'm finally get some momentum, though! Yay! :-)
Oh, Claire, it's so pretty! I really like it! Hope you enjoy it & thanks for posting pics of it. And don't worry about organizing those pictures, they'll get organized. If you want to borrow some scrapbook magazines for inspiration, let me know!

That is a great gift! I would love it. It's very pretty and functional.
I have pics back to when we married in 1984. Plus, I have dh's pics and my pics prior to that. Ugh! Many were in albums and then the acid-free discussion came. I pulled them all out of albums, but at least they are in order in photo storage boxes.
Your a blessing Claire... thank you!
I'm jealous. What an awesome thing! I feel for you with the scrapbooking. I hope June goes better!
